how often should I have my machine serviced?
A machine should be serviced annually. Most tension and skipped stitch issues can be resolved with a cleaning.

when should I oil my machine/change my needle?
Every third bobbin, that might seem often, but it will really help your machine stay smooth! Here's a tutorial from one of our favorites!
Your needle should be changed every 5 hours of sew time, if you're sewing through something thick like denim or leather, change it every 3 hours of sew time. Don't forget to change it for different types of materials!
